Exports Total Nearly $5.3B in First Half of 2011
Maryland’s exports through the first half of 2011 increased to nearly $5.3 billion, more than 8.5% over the same six months of 2010. The growth is led by the state’s sales to its two largest export markets, Canada and China, which saw 13% and 24% hikes, respectively. Gov. O’Malley’s recent business mission to Asia and DBED’s participation in the Paris Air Show are expected to continue to boost Maryland’s exports. In related news, DBED and the German American Chamber of Commerce will host a free export seminar on Oct. 14 in Balt. Learn more.
