Gov. Promotes Jobs Credit at CyberPoint Intl.
Governor O'Malley joined Secretary Johansson and DLLR Secretary
Sanchez on a tour of CyberPoint International to promote the Job
Creation and Recovery Tax Credit, a $5,000 tax credit for every
unemployed Marylander a company hires. Since being signed into
law on March 25, 20 unemployed workers have been hired by 12
Maryland companies. A growing cyber security firm in downtown
Baltimore, CyberPoint started with three workers in October, but
has since grown to 21 and plans to grow to 100 within two years. READ MORE.

Life Technologies Adding 100 New Jobs in Frederick
Global bio company Life
Technologies plans to hire 100 new employees and expand its
Frederick operations, the company’s largest distribution center
on the East Coast. The State has offered a $500,000 state
conditional grant to aid the company, a leading provider of
tools for stem cell research, with expansion of its
manufacturing and R&D operations. Maryland is a leader in the
biotech industry with 440 life science companies and 50

Spring Showcases State's Spectacular Gardens
Maryland’s assortment of gardens is as varied as the many types of businesses
they support. On the Eastern Shore, Adkins Arboretum in Tuckahoe State Park
showcases the Delmarva region’s largest collection of native plants and Ladew
Topiary Gardens in Harford County boasts 15 themed garden rooms on 22 acres.

IB Headquarters Set for Summer Move to Bethesda
International Baccalaureate Organization is relocating its
Global Center for the Americas headquarters from New York City,
leasing 33,000 square feet in Bethesda. The new offices will
house up to 150 employees, a number the nonprofit educational
organization hopes to reach in the next few years. The company
said they are moving to Maryland in part to be closer to the schools
they work with and were also attracted to the state’s work-life
balance. Maryland is home to the best public school system in

Maryland Gears Up for BIO 2010
Governor O'Malley and Secretary Johansson will join more than 25 Maryland
organizations and approximately 500 members from Maryland's life sciences
community at the 2010 BIO International Convention in Chicago, May 3-6. The
Convention attracts 15,000 attendees from 60 countries and offers unparalleled
