Governor
names new Sports Marketing director
Gov.
Martin O’Malley announced the appointment of Terrance
(Terry) Hasseltine as director of the newly formed Maryland
Office of Sports Marketing – a joint initiative
of the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development
(DBED) and the Maryland Stadium Authority.
“Maryland
has a proud and storied tradition of fostering world-class
athletes, hosting national events and designing state-of-the-art
stadiums and sports facilities,” Gov. O’Malley
said. “We are confident that Terry’s broad
industry experience will help us maximize our strong
position, develop new events and attract more fans and
athletes to Maryland.”
Hasseltine
will evaluate Maryland’s sports assets and develop
a strategic plan to increase the number of professional,
amateur, scholastic, youth and recreational sports events
in the state.
