First Mariner site selected for new venue

Both Gov. Martin O’Malley and Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon agree that the best location for a new 18,500-seat sports and entertainment venue in Baltimore is the site of the existing First Mariner Arena, according to a report in the Baltimore Business Journal. Construction of the new venue, which could take three years, would force the city to find a temporary location for Baltimore Blast games and other events.
